A 15th of a second of fame...

A month or so ago, my friend Myk shot a bunch of stills for a music video set. So I, along with a bunch of our friends, got to "die" in weird ways. It was morbidly amusing, as we couldn't use fake blood or be too graphic due to a certain music channel's censorship guidelines.

I can be seen in the video for about 3 seconds total. heehee. I've circled me in the below screenshot....

Welcome to the Cat House

This is my new side table, which will soon be residing in my living room...

I drew up the plans for it and my Father built it. I'm going to paint it the same citron green as the walls in my living room, once it arrives in Suburbia. It's currently sitting in my Father's woodworking studio. That space in the bottom there is for the cat. I've got a cushion made out of the same fabric as my throw pillows that will be shoved in there, so Dolemite can hang out in there. I figure it'll be a nice little nook for him to sleep in. The key to getting my stubborn cat to go in there is to make him believe he's not allowed... then he'll be all over it. hehe.

Edited to say: To be specific, my Mother made the cushion. She read this yesterday and was comically-bothered by the lack of due credit given. THANK YOU MY DEAR MOTHER, FOR MAKING THE CUSHION FOR YOUR GRANDCAT.

Green

Went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday...

Big Bird, looking a little thin...

Neat-o...

A lot of people in the parade seemed to delight in hurling candy at kid's noggins along the parade route...

I don't understand why these guys were there....

Woodland Meats

Yesterday I purchased some hot dogs from the deli counter in the supermarket. As I peered through the deli case glass to make my selection, I noticed two ceramic squirrels among the various frankfurters. Weird. Then I noticed a ceramic bunny sitting near a loaf of bologna. Further inspection revealed that there were various ceramic woodland creatures sitting among the meats and cheeses throughout the entire deli case.

This struck me as very odd.

Tub Flamingo

Although it's not a Don Featherstone, this "pink flamingo rubber duck" (what?) is doing quite well in his new home in my bathroom.

www.celebriducks.com is where you can get 'em. (Also where I snagged the image from)
The neat thing about celebriducks is that they have two flamingo versions.. A "lawn flamingo" version made to look like a Featherstone and a "flamingo in the wild" version, which is made to look a bit more like a real flamingo with whiter back feathers.

A movie about redemption, and then some ribs.

This poster is so good... I love when the look and feel of a movie translates this well to it's marketing materials....

This weekend I saw "Black Snake Moan," which was good for quite a few reasons, although Samuel L. Jackson singing a version of "Stagger Lee" that is closer to the Nick Cave telling than the Lloyd Price song was worth the ticket price alone.

During the car ride to a trashy barbeque joint afterward, it was decided that "Stagger Lee" would be a fantastic name for a dog.
